Ubisoft Announces Assassin’s Creed Series With Cinematic Trailers

Ubisoft has announced the news about the “Assassin’s Creed” series as part of its Forward event. After some information about the game has already been leaked in the last few days, the new offshoot “Mirage” has now been officially unveiled. The first details about the story are shown in a cinematic trailer. The game sends the player to Baghdad and the early Middle Ages.

The title returns to the roots of the series

The main character of Mirage is Basim Ibn Ishaq, known from “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla”. The action takes place 20 years before the events of the predecessor. The player accompanies the thief to the streets of Baghdad in the year 861. During the course of the game, Basim joins the Hidden Ones, the forerunners of the Assassins. There should be different parts of the city and more passages for sneaking and climbing. The main focus is on camouflage, parkour elements, and assassinations.

To provide that classic Assassin’s Creed feel, enemies can be killed from ambushes without much fanfare. In addition, the story was designed to be linear, so that the spin-off returns to the roots of the series. The development focused on the single-player mode. There shouldn’t be a multiplayer mode. “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” will be released for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and 5, and PC and will see the light of day next year.

There is no exact release date yet. The title can be pre-ordered now. While the standard version costs 50 euros, the deluxe edition costs 60 euros and the collector’s case costs 150 euros. The exclusive “40 Thieves” side quest is provided as a pre-order bonus.
