Users won’t be able to share their login credentials for Disney Plus

After Netflix, Disney Plus is all set to kickstart its password-sharing crackdown on users. According to some recent pieces of information, the company has set November 1 as the deadline. After this date, users won’t be able to share their accounts with outside users. Currently, there is no information on how the company will work this out.

According to reports, Disney Plus has sent email notifications to Canadian users. The users were notified about the changes in the policy via email. The email informs the recipient that “We are putting constraints on the capacity to disclose your account or login information outside of your household.” A post at the Disney Plus Help Center details that the term household refers to the devices linked with the user’s primary personal residence that are used by individuals residing there.

It looks like Disney Plus is following Netflix’s footsteps

Since last year, Netflix initiated the password-sharing crackdown program. Reportedly, it has now been implemented worldwide. However, the company allows the users to share the account details with an additional member outside the household but this comes with a fee. Disney Plus has not shared any information about any such feature yet.

The password-sharing crackdown by Disney Plus will begin from Canada. Netflix offered the convenience of profile transfer with the password-sharing crackdown. There are no details on whether Disney Plus will offer such features or not. Well, it should do so since users will be able to conveniently transfer their recommendations and watchlists to their new accounts. In August 2023, Disney shared the information about its password-sharing strategy. It was the same time when the company raised the prices of its subscription services. According to the company, the limitations on account sharing will be imposed on a massive level next year.
