WhatsApp brings new stricter forwarding limits

WhatsApp introduces stricter restrictions on message forwarding. In iOS and Android beta testing, there are now warnings if messages should be forwarded to more than one group chat. WhatsApp thus pursues the goal of expanding the messenger as a personal and private communication platform and limiting mass reports (and especially targeted false reports). According to the online magazine, Whatsapp beta information Users who attempt to forward a message to more than one group chat will be warned accordingly. It says “forwarded messages can only be sent to a group chat”.

Detours are not possible

Also, as you can see from a beta screenshot of WhatsApp Beta Info, it is no longer possible to forward messages to more than one group chat at a time. So the messenger is not limited to a warning, but no longer allows multiple selections. The new message forwarding rules only apply to messages that have already been forwarded.

This limitation has already been rolled out to select Android beta testers as the first set of tests. This will be followed by the rollout of the feature to more users who have installed the latest WhatsApp Android beta update 2.22.8.11. More beta testers will receive the changes in the coming weeks. The changes are now rolling out to all beta mobile app users. Let’s start with WhatsApp beta for Android in version 2.22.7.2 and newer, as well as WhatsApp beta for iOS from version 22.7.0.76 and newer.
