WhatsApp now has the option to pin messages in chats

When it comes to the messaging platform for smartphones, WhatsApp is the most popular app. However, this was not the case previously. Since the acquisition of WhatsApp by Facebook the messaging platform has improved tremendously. Notably, WhatsApp was acquired back in 2014. The platform didn’t receive any groundbreaking features or modifications in the first few years of acquisition. It was modified over time in order to compete with rival platforms like Telegram.

Currently, WhatsApp receives new features every few months. Most of the new features arriving in the app are already available on other messaging apps, however, the company is closing the gap at a rapid rate. According to some recent pieces of information, the beta version of WhatsApp is set to receive a new update this week. Reportedly, users can now pin messages at the top of conversations.

Users will be able to pin conversations and individual messages

We all know that WhatsApp has provided us the opportunity to pin conversations at the top of the screen for quite a while now. However, the feature is now expanding its reach. It will now be available with individual chats. It could be done by long pressing the desired message and then tapping on the three-dot menu at the top right corner of the screen to get access to the Pin option.

Similar to the mute message, users can select the preferred time range for pinning a particular message. It can be set for a time frame of 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days, but not indefinitely. However, it might change in the future. In addition to this, the share menu of the app has been redesigned in the latest beta update of WhatsApp. Although this isn’t a significant change, WhatsApp’s default user interface, which at the moment is a mashup of old and new UI elements, will now have a more contemporary feel.
