WhatsApp to Launch A New Feature for Beta Users of iOS

new feature

WhatsApp is busy working on a new feature for the beta users of iOS. The new feature would be ranking the user’s friends in their contact list depending on the frequency of interaction with their closed ones. This feature would also be deciding upon the preference of the user’s friends’ status updates on the messaging app.

The ranking algorithm would basically be arranging and giving preferences to the WhatsApp Status updates. This feature would permit users not to miss out on any important stuff from friends with whom they make a lot of interaction. This feature would be keeping a check on the user’s use and conduct throughout the application for building priorities. If with any contact a lot of interaction is made, then their status update would be present on top.

As per the reports of WABetaInfo, the sending and receiving of messages would be counted as a normal ranking however if one sends and received media, then that would be counted as good ranking.  Additionally, if the message is ignored then WhatsApp would consider that as bad ranking for the contact.

When a call is placed, it would be increasing the ranking. The count of chats and mentions to a specific contact in group chat would be boosting the ranking. If the status update of some contact is ignored on a regular basis for a longer period of time, then the ranking of that contact would decline automatically.

The ranking algorithm feature is only present for the people who have got beta versions of WhatsApp.
