WhatsApp to Soon Delete all your Data – Backup before 12th November

WhatsApp is soon deleting all you chats, pictures, voice notes, and videos. Due to a system change coming in 2018 in the WhatsApp, the social media app will have to delete all of the user’s data.

A deal between WhatsApp and Google has led to this change. Following the deal soon all WhatsApp data be it chats, videos, pictures or audio message will be backed up without taking any Google Drive space.

Google and WhatsApp have agreed in the deal to back up the user accounts without utilizing the15GB free data space.

Now, this is a good news for all WhatsApp users but on the flip side all your old data, chats, pictures and videos can get deleted.

Users need to backup their account before 12th November to save their data. If they don’t they might lose all your data.

Furthermore, as per Google’s recommendation, users need to backup their data manually.

To backup your account manually, make sure you have a Google Drive setup. Go to the menu from WhatsApp, tap settings, chats, chat backup. Select the Backup option and automatically all your data will get backed up.

The recommendation by WhatsApp is to make sure your account is connected to WhatsApp when you backup your files as  “backup files can vary in size and consume mobile data, causing additional charges.”

Google in an email to XDA said, “However, any WhatsApp backups that have not been updated in more than a year will automatically be removed from storage.

“This policy will come into effect for all users on November 12, 2018, although some users may see the quota benefits earlier.

“To avoid the loss of backups, we recommend that people back up WhatsApp before November 12, 2018.”
