Windows 11 Android apps improve their keyboard support and fix various bugs

Microsoft continues to release regular updates to its Android subsystem for Windows 11. In particular, the new August 2022 release offers keyboard support for games with joysticks, in addition to aiming with the arrows. In addition, several bug fixes and improvements have been made.

Available since February on Windows 11, Android applications still receive special care from Microsoft. Indeed, the functionality that users have been waiting for for a long time still leaves a lot of room for improvement and the Redmond firm has understood this. The latter therefore regularly implements updates to correct some bugs and optimize its operation, as was the case in July

. Rebelote therefore this month with a new update that brings its share of improvements. Android subsystem version 2206.40000.15.0 focuses on gaming apps, although several other bugs have been fixed as well. On the other hand, note that it is currently only available in the United States, although it won’t be long before it arrives in our regions. Of course, you must have a PC with Windows 11 to take advantage of this.

The main improvement of this update is in the level of keyboard support by applications. For example, games compatible with a joystick can now be played on the keyboard, with gestures reconfigured for the WASD keys (which will likely become ZQSD once the update is available in France). In the same way, the controller support has also been optimized. In addition, there is the possibility to aim and slide with the arrow keys in the corresponding games.
