Windows 11: Microsoft starts new dynamic updates

At the weekend, Microsoft has released new dynamic updates that improve the setup and recovery of the operating system. The update is available for three versions of Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025.

Improvements for setup and recovery

After the start of the optional April updates for Windows 10 and 11, which expand the functions of the file explorer and integrate Windows Phone Link into the start menu, Microsoft is now also publishing dynamic updates for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025. For the following versions, an update is now available:

Winre bug is fixed

Like Microsoft on his Support website informed, the updates for Windows 11 24H2 and Windows Server 2025, on the one hand, provide improvements to Windows setup bineme files or files that prepare function updates in Windows 11. On the other hand, improvements are made to the Windows recovery environment (WinRe).

Specifically, a problem is fixed that affects a small number of copilot+ PCs with ARM64 architecture and activated Secure launch function. After installing the security update from April 2025 (KB5055523), difficulties can occur in the execution of a push button reset (PBR) or in -place upgrade. If these devices try to start the Windows recovery environment (WinRe), an error occurs that prevents the process from continuing. With the dynamic updates for Windows 11 23H2 and 22H2, Winre is ‘improved’ according to Microsoft. What exactly has been adjusted here is not revealed.

Downloading KB5055643 is only possible via manual download of the corresponding files from the Windows update catalog. The direct links to the individual versions can be found in the list at the beginning of the article. The other updates are also offered via the ordinary Windows update.

Background to dynamic updates

As soon as a Windows function update is initiated, be it from a medium or a PC or server connected to the Windows Update service, the first step is to access the dynamic update. The Windows setup accesses an internet URL hosted by Microsoft to access the content, and then uses these updates to the installation. This improves the processes and prevents or resolved any errors when opening an update.
