Windows 11 Preview adds New Context Menu

Windows 11 Context

Microsoft has released a new preview for Windows 11 in the Insider Program. The new build with the number 22000.71 is available in the dev channel and brings among other things an entertainment widget and the context menu in the acrylic effect.

After a week it goes on: The third preview version of Windows 11 has been published in the Insider Program and brings a long list of changes. Build 22000.71 introduces several improvements, including an entertainment widget with a link to the Microsoft Store and a number of changes in the new look of Windows 11. The context menu and other menus that are called up by right-clicking now have the acrylic effect and the preview images in the taskbar have been adapted to the round corners.

Bug Fixes and Issues

In addition to these UI changes, there are also many bug fixes. The insider team has listed all bug fixes in the Windows blog and thanks to the first testers for the lively feedback. The fixed bugs include display problems in the system tray, the new Settings app, the file explorer, the widgets, and the search. In addition, a bug has been fixed that had affected the start reliability for some insiders. The list of known errors is still very long. As usual, there are further details on this in the Windows Blog.

It is also interesting for developers that the latest Windows Insider SDK is available in version 22000.71. The Windows Insider SDK will be released on an ongoing basis with corresponding Windows 11 Insider Preview builds. Starting with Windows Insider SDK version 22000.71 and the latest .NET 5 update, support is also starting for .NET 5 developers who want to target the Windows Insider SDK and access the new APIs.
