The announcement was initially only made for the USA, but is expected to be announced in Europe and other regions soon.
The drastic new price increase follows an initially cautious price increase of between $20 and $70 in the USA that was implemented in October 2025. The date for the price increase in the USA is August 1, 2026. From this day onwards, the Xbox Series S will cost at least $499.99 in the United States, with the version with a terabyte of storage then costing a cool $599.99.
