Xiaomi 13 Lite Follows Apple Dynamic Island Design

Xiaomi apparently wants to start offering its own adaptation of the “Apple Dynamic Island” in Europe soon. With the Xiaomi 13 Lite, a smartphone with the Android operating system is coming onto the market, where the animations around a pill-shaped section around the front cameras are copied from Apple.

According to Twitter user Sudhandshu Ambhore, someone has posted the first short “unboxing” video of the Xiaomi 13 Lite, showing the smartphone being unpacked with the pill-shaped cutout for the front camera in the display. The video shows the box of the smartphone, confirming the name, although the smartphone is obviously a rebrand of the Xiaomi Civi2, which has been on sale in China for a few months.

The Civi2 or Xiaomi 13 Lite is the first Android smartphone in which its manufacturer copies Apple’s Dynamic Island. What is meant by this is that notifications and certain small widgets are displayed in the upper area of the display around the camera section, with the section being integrated and thus “hidden” to a certain extent during use.

Solid middle class

The Xiaomi 13 Lite offers a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 10-bit color depth, Full HD+ resolution, a maximum brightness of up to 1000 candelas, and support for Dolby Vision. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which achieves maximum clock rates of up to 2.4 gigahertz with its eight cores.

On the back is a Sony IMX766 camera sensor with 50 megapixels for the main camera, which Xiaomi provides with an ultra wide-angle camera with 20 megapixels. There is also a pointless 2-megapixel sensor for macro shots. The “camera pill” on the front houses two 32-megapixel camera sensors, one of which offers an extremely wide field of view. The overall package is powered by a 4500mAh battery supplied and can be quickly charged with up to 67 watts via USB Type-C.
