Xiaomi has announced that its Redmi 8 series has shipped more than 25 million units. The company claims that it achieved this number globally in less than 12 months. The mobile phones sold by the company are Xiaomi Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, and Redmi 8A Dual. Just after it recently announced the launch of Redmi 9A in India. Redmi 9A will make its debut in India on September 2 (that is, tomorrow). Keep reading to learn more about the Redmi 8 series.

The Redmi 8A Dual currently starts at Rs 7,499 via Amazon.in in India. The smartphone comes in three different colors: midnight gray, sky white, and sea blue. If you plan to buy Redmi 8A Dual, it is recommended that you purchase the 3GB RAM version. In terms of specifications, you are looking at a 6.22-inch HD+ display. The display has a water-drop notch and provides a high aspect ratio of 19:9. It is powered by the eight-core Snapdragon 439 mobile platform.

For imaging, you are watching at dual rear camera setup. The main camera is a 13-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture. Now it captures depth information with the help of an additional 2-megapixel sensor. For selfies, you get an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone also supports 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second. Redmi 8A Dual runs MIUI 11 and is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. It also supports 18W fast charging, which should charge the device faster. However, the 18W fast charger is not included in the box.

Redmi 8 is currently only available through Mi.com, and its price in India starts from Rs 9,999. This price applies to 4GB RAM + 64GB storage models. It is equipped with a 6.22-inch HD+ display. There is a water droplet that can hold an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. AI selfie camera supports portrait mode and face unlock. For the rear camera setup, Xiaomi uses a 12-megapixel main camera, as well as a Sony IMX363 sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Google Lens integration also provides translation between 104 languages. There is an eight-core Snapdragon 439 SoC under the hood, the same SoC that powers the Redmi 8A. The smartphone has a P2i coating to make it splash-proof and run MIUI. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, and a USB Type-C port. Xiaomi only includes a 10W charger in the device box.
