Today ZTE’s official Weibo post has two key messages: under-display camera and “year 30”, which seems to imply that ZTE Axon 30 will be equipped with under-display camera technology.
Previously, ZTE Axon 20 was first launched and mass-produced commercial under-display camera technology. Now ZTE has confirmed that the next-generation flagship will be named ZTE Axon 30. Based on the poster information, it will be equipped with ZTE’s second-generation under-display camera technology.
Compared with the punch-hole screen, the notch screen and the pop-up screen, the under-display camera does not need any mechanical structure assistance while achieving a true full screen and increasing the screen-to-body ratio.
It is reported that ZTE’s under-display camera technology adopts a new self-developed pixel arrangement and redesigns the pixel drive circuit to further improve the light transmittance of the under-screen camera area. The combination of algorithms achieves almost the same imaging performance as the conventional front camera.
In addition, ZTE confirmed that the Axon 30 series will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship processor. From this, ZTE Axon 30 is expected to become the industry’s first Snapdragon 888 full-screen flagship equipped with under-screen camera technology.
