“Half ads” on Twitter Blue aren’t actually half ads

Twitter Verified

Ads on the internet are pretty annoying sometimes. Recently, we heard some things about the ad strategy of Twitter. With the promotion of Twitter Blue, the CEO of the company promised that number of the ads will be cut to half. Well, the day has arrived however, things are not up to the expectations. Twitter Blue is available by paying a set amount to the platform every month. Despite this fact, users are presented with ads. Any user would anticipate that the monthly fee would make up for the decrease in ad revenue. That’s not the case, though.

Twitter Blue features half ads

Well, the social media platform declares that users will be presented with half as many ads. However, this is not the actual case. When it comes to the exclusive features of Twitter Blue, they are only presented with two sections of the app’s UI i.e., For You timeline and the Following timeline. Besides this, users will see a full number of ads throughout the remaining UI. It consists of promoted events in Explore, promoted trends, ads on profiles, ads in Tweet replies, and promoted accounts to follow.

It suggests that users will visualize half of the ads on 20% of the UI. The fact that people who venture outside of the two timelines won’t observe any noticeable decrease in ads is a slap in the face. Although we are aware that Elon is attempting to increase Twitter’s profitability, this still seems like a dubious strategy.

In case you are interested in using Twitter Blue, you can grab it for $8/month. It is applicable to the web version of the app. For the mobile version of the app, Twitter Blue is priced at $11/per month.
