Microsoft Edge Gets Better Password Manager With Categories And Notes
Microsoft is working on a redesigned password manager for the Edge browser. Future updates will move password management to the new wallet section and introduce additional options to make it easier and more convenient to use.

This is reported by Neowin and refers to some new screenshots from a Canary build of the web browser.
One of the most important innovations is the ability to categorize passwords and add notes. This is particularly helpful if you are searching your passwords and cannot immediately come up with the name of the service or if you would like to see passwords structured according to areas of application.
When saving or creating a password, Microsoft Edge now offers to select a category. Currently, available categories include business, email, entertainment, finance, gaming, news, shopping, social media, sports, technology, travel, and utilities.
There are currently no custom categories. This is also the first version of the innovation that Microsoft is now having publicly tested. In addition to categorizing passwords, Edge will allow you to add notes, just like Google Chrome or standalone password management tools.
Function still faulty
However, there seems to be a bug at the moment, or the note function has not yet been fully implemented: You can add notes, but the browser does not save them.
Microsoft is gradually rolling out the new features for Edge Insiders. This means that not all users of the Canary channel can try out the new password manager yet. But that will change as soon as Microsoft has enough feedback to release the new functions to more testers.
