After an arson attack on a Starlink terminal in Poland, investigators in Baden-Württemberg have arrested a suspected client. Yesterday, special police units picked up a Turkish national in the Reutlingen district.

Behind man arrested

According to the responsible authorities, the accused is accused of having commissioned two previously arrested men from Germany to carry out the attack. The State Protection Center at the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor’s Office is conducting the investigation together with the Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office. The arson attack occurred on September 23, 2026 in Poland. According to investigators’ findings so far, the accused, who has now been arrested, is said to have caused two men to travel to Poland on the night of the attack and set fire to a terminal of the Starlink satellite internet service there. Another suspect is said to have driven the two men to Poland.

Authorities had already arrested two Turkish nationals in Nürtingen on October 12th based on Polish requests. A day later they were brought before an investigating judge, who issued them with European arrest warrants from Poland and ordered them to be taken into custody. The extradition proceedings against both men are ongoing at the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Ammunition found

In the course of further investigations, the State Protection Center has now initiated its own German proceedings. An arrest warrant was obtained from the Stuttgart District Court against the man who has now been arrested. The accusation is, in particular, of preparing a terrorist crime. After his arrest, the accused was brought before the investigating judge. He opened the arrest warrant and executed it. According to the authorities, during the search and the measures taken against the man, investigators seized, among other things, eight cell phones and ammunition.

The significance of the objects for the procedure was not initially explained in more detail. The investigation is under the direction of the State Protection Center at the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor’s Office. The authorities initially did not provide any further information about the possible background to the attack, about the accused or about specific evidence, citing the ongoing proceedings.
