Google’s latest update for Google Meet app includes several new features as well as a UI redesign
Google is rolling out the latest update for Google Meet app that includes some new features along with a UI redesign. This latest update divides the UI section into three tabs. Google Meet Backgrounds includes high-resolution pictures, immersive photographs with movement (such as falling snow), and 360-degree spinning images.
Aside from that, you may submit your own image or use Duet AI to create a background. Google Meet’s new version adds a new option called Filters that may convert you into an animal and apply headgear, spectacles, and other accessories. The third tab, Appearance, allows you to change lighting, frame, and video quality.
Google Meet will also gain Studio Lighting functionality
In addition, Google now allows you to use Meet backgrounds and filters simultaneously. Google Meet displays a new ‘layer’ symbol in the bottom-right corner that may “keep track of which effects you’re using and remove one or all of them altogether.”
According to 9To5Google, Google Meet is also receiving the ‘Studio Light’ feature on the web, which will provide studio-quality lighting during video conversations. Google Meet Studio Light provides an Auto and Custom option for adjusting the lighting location, brightness, and hue.
The minimal need for this to function is a “processor that is equivalent or more performant than Intel Core i9-9880H (8C/16T), Intel Core i5-1235U (2P8E/12T), AMD Ryzen 5 5500U (6C/12T), and Apple M1 (4P4E/8T).” Both Studio capabilities require the Duet AI for Google Workspace Enterprise add-on.
