Google Messages will enable RCS texting on several SIM cards
Google Messages is a feature-rich messaging app that comes pre-installed on Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices. Google keeps on updating the platform with the latest features. With the latest information Google will enable RCS texting on multiple sim cards. As for now, the stable version of the Google Messages app for Android does not enable RCS texting on several SIM cards at once.
In a new post on X (formerly known as Twitter), @AssembleDebug released photos of the Google Messages app’s settings menu, which shows RCS enabled on two SIM cards at once. This feature allows you to start a chat in the app with someone using RCS from any of your smartphone’s two SIM cards.
What’s more fascinating is that the program also lets you swap between the two SIM cards in one RCS chat window. While messages sent from both SIM cards to a number are seen in the same conversation, it is unclear how this scenario appears on the other end.
We don’t know if the available information is from a beta or a stable version of the program. If it comes from a stable version of the app, it suggests the feature has already begun to roll out. If that’s not the case, I expect Google will provide the functionality to the public via an update shortly, as it is currently functioning.
