Google announced that RCS will be available on iPhones in the fall of this year
Apple stated in November 2023 that Rich Communications Service (RCS) will be available for iPhones “later next year,” implying that iOS 18 would be the release date for the new messaging standard. Nevertheless, the business hasn’t provided any updates on the situation since then, so it is impossible to determine when the new function will be released for iOS. Thankfully, that is starting to change now.
Surprisingly, Google has provided an update regarding the release of RCS in iOS, although Apple has not. RCS is coming to iOS in the fall of 2024, based on the Google Messages landing page on the Android website (via 9To5Google). According to the website, Apple has declared that it will implement RCS in the autumn of 2024. Everyone will have a better communication experience once it occurs.
This indicates that RCS for the iPhone should be available in 6 to 9 months. When that occurs, Android users will be able to communicate with iPhone users via Google Messages or Samsung Messages and take advantage of numerous features, such as quote replies, message reactions, and typing indicators, all without the need of a third-party app, which is presently limited to chats between iPhones and Androids.
