New this week on Netflix & Prime Video
With more than 40 new releases, the week is well filled for film and series fans on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+. The highlights include Rebel Moon, The Hobbit, Arrow, Futurama and SpongeBob. In our overview we show you all the dates.
Mystery, sci-fi and well-known blockbusters
Mystery and thriller fans can look forward to “Bodies Bodies Bodies” and “Patient Zero” on Netflix, while “Unsolved Mysteries: Issue 4” examines true crime cases. For those who love adventure, there is “Lhaka Sherpa, Queen of the Mountain Peaks” and the sequel to “The Rising of the Shield Hero.” “Love is Blind: Mexico” also promises “romantic suspense.” Our Netflix tip: If you thought you had already seen everything from Rebel Moon with Child of Fire and The Scarmaker, you can look forward to Zack Snyder’s special director’s cut of the two sci-fi films in August, which will not only be released under the new names “Rebel Moon – Chapter 1: Chalice of Blood” and “Rebel Moon – Chapter 2: Curse of Forgiveness,” but are also longer and more action-packed.
Amazon Prime Video, on the other hand, entices with a mix of action and comedy. “Dirty Grandpa” and “Alice, Darling” offer humorous entertainment, while the “Batman: Caped Crusader” series appeals to comic fans. The “Hobbit” trilogy takes us back to the world of Middle Earth, and “Arrow” offers eight seasons of superhero action. Disney+ will show the twelfth season of “Futurama” and the third season of “Meet Spidey and His Super Friends” in July. Although Disney+ has not yet announced its August reboots, subscribers to the streaming service can look forward to more content as soon as it is announced. We will update this article accordingly.
