Galaxy S26 Ultra Rumored to Get Rounder Corners, Raising iPhone Comparisons

According to new rumors, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra could get even rounder corners than the S25 Ultra and thus become even more similar to the iPhone. Samsung slowly loses its identity or is only reacting to the wishes of the users?

Galaxy S26 Ultra is still round

In addition to a revolutionary new display, much faster charging and a camera upgrade, Samsung is apparently also planning further design changes for the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. The flagship smartphone should receive even more rounder corners than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which was already significantly defused compared to its predecessor. The South Korean manufacturer continues the trend to say goodbye to the angular note design and to offer more ergonomics.

Ergonomics with independence

The previous ultra models up to the Galaxy S24 Ultra were known for their sharp edges, which looked characteristic, but were somewhat impractical in practice. Users repeatedly complained about drastic corners in the palm and even holes in pockets. The Galaxy S25 Ultra has already received a rounder titanium frame construction, which lost its design, but better suited the rest of the Galaxy S series.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is loud @Universeice on x (via Android policy) further drive this development. The well -known leaker indicates that the four corners of the device should become more round. At the same time, the display could grow from 6.86 to 6.89-inch due to the thinner frame without the housing.

Technical improvements planned

In addition to the corner design, the camera arrangement is also to be revised. Samsung could return to the “camera island” and summarize the main camera, ultra-wake angle and 5x telephoto lens. That would create space for larger and more advanced modules. There are also a lighter f/1.4 aperture for the main camera and a 50 megapixel telephoto lens. These changes could improve the photo quality of the device again.

iPhone similarity as a problem?

The increasing optical similarity between Galaxy Ultra and iPhone Pro Max could be problematic. Samsung risks to water down his unique selling points and to be perceived as imitators. That was already a problem in the past and caused criticism that even the group boss commented on.

The current development could weaken Samsung’s position as an innovation leader and bring the company into a defensive attitude towards Apple. On the other hand, the development shows that Samsung reacts to user feedback and that ergonomics is probably about design. The change towards rounders could also lead to a wider market acceptance and Samsung help to address a larger target group with their flagship smartphone.
