One UI 9.5: Samsung is conducting internal tests

While many Galaxy users are still waiting for the update to One UI 9, Samsung is already testing the successor behind the scenes. Internal testing versions of One UI 9.5 have been discovered for multiple devices. There are also some surprising models included.
Samsung is already testing One UI 9.5
Samsung is currently rolling out One UI 9 to other Galaxy smartphones. But the company has been internally testing the successor to the user interface for the S26 since mid-August. Now the process seems to be gaining further momentum, as test builds for additional Galaxy models have now appeared. Software development therefore starts earlier than with its predecessor. An open beta phase could start as early as late October or November. Another indication of the development status of the upcoming user interface was found in the Nearby Device Scanning system application. Their release notes list compatibility for One UI 9.5. This usually only happens when the developers are already actively working with the new environment. Now they are loud SammyFans The following models are already part of the internal tests. Somewhat surprising, but not just flagships are included:
Possible new features
Leaked preliminary versions also indicate planned innovations. Accordingly, One UI 9.5 should take a new direction visually and bring more transparency and depth effects in menus and widgets. Another detail is a feature called App Cast. This will allow users to wirelessly mirror their smartphone apps to a Windows PC. The prerequisite for this is that both devices are logged in to the same Samsung account. Additionally, initial alleged screenshots show a dedicated area for satellite communications in emergencies. The fact that far-reaching changes are possible even without a full version jump is thanks to Android’s architecture. One UI 9.5 is expected to be based on Android 17 QPR2. Since the core of the operating system remains stable, the developers have scope for visual adjustments.
However, Samsung has not yet communicated a time frame for publishing the user interface. However, One UI 9.5 is expected to celebrate its official premiere in early 2027 together with the Galaxy S27 series. This will likely be followed by gradual distribution to older models such as the Galaxy S26 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The Galaxy S23 series, however, could come away empty-handed for the first time with the update. Samsung had made a promise of four major Android updates for the smartphones, which would already be fulfilled with the arrival of One UI 9.0 based on Android 17.
