Amazon Prime Video: The new films and series in April 2026

Bloody superheroes, British secret agents and a Bavarian AI goblin: Amazon is delivering an unusual program for Prime Video in April. The focus of the innovations is the exciting finale of the successful series The Boys. Here is an overview of the restarts.

Superhero finale in April

April 2026 brings lots of new content for Prime Video subscribers. The provider is restocking its media library with a mixture of series completions, in-house productions and technical experiments. The focus is on the farewell to Billy Butcher and his crew. Film and sports fans also get additional material through an agent franchise and sports broadcasts. The fifth and final season of The Boys starts on April 8th. The template comes from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The plot focuses on the world under Homelander’s control. While Hughie is trapped in a camp, Butcher plans to use a virus against all the Supes. Two episodes will be released at the start, followed by one episode every week until the finale on May 20th.

Action and bestsellers

Director Peter Farrelly directs the film Balls Up, which is available from April 15th. As Amazon announced, Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser will play two marketing managers. They become embroiled in a scandal after an escalated party in Brazil. The protagonists flee from criminals and angry fans to save their careers. The film draws on Farrelly’s classic road movie elements. The adaptation of Isabel Allende’s novel The Haunted House follows on April 29th. The eight-part family saga from FilmNation Entertainment follows three generations of women over 50 years. It is the first Spanish-language series adaptation of the material, which was made into a film with Meryl Streep in 1993. The production addresses political upheavals, class struggles and magical realism in Latin America using historical sets.

AI technology and spies

From a technical point of view, the Schnick Schnack – Pumuckl prankster format is interesting. In the hidden camera show, the leprechaun interacts with people in Munich from April 1st. AI technology is used. Developers use a model that authentically converts the texts spoken by Michael Kessler into the voice of the late original speaker Hans Clarin. Amazon Prime Video’s offering also includes live sports in April, including the Champions League quarterfinals between Real Madrid and FC Bayern Munich as well as NBA basketball games. Just in time for the beginning of the month, the service will also include all James Bond films from the Daniel Craig era in its program. Viewers stream all of the British agent’s missions from Casino Royale to No Time to Die.
