German Counter-Strike player hits opponent in the face
There was a scandal at an e-sports tournament in Germany. A professional player lost his nerve after a defeat and physically attacked his opponent on stage. The consequences of the incident are far-reaching.
Uproar at the DACH CS Masters 2026
At the final of the DACH CS Masters in April 2026 in Leipzig, the situation between two professional players of the tactical shooter Counter-Strike 2 escalated. The 31-year-old player with the pseudonym Mauschine physically attacked his opponent Fabian Salomon, known as Spidergum, on stage. He hit Salomon in the head, causing his glasses to fall to the floor. The whole thing happened after Salomon’s team Regnum4games won.
The attack was apparently triggered by verbal taunts between the opponents. The day before, Salomon had imitated a cheering gesture from Mauschine after a successful game scene. When the trophy was handed over, the losing player pounced on his rival and hit him in the face. The moderator of the event reacted immediately and had the attacker removed from the stage. The audience on site was shocked by the sudden outbreak of violence in the hall.
Ten years ban for the attacker
The DACH tournament organization immediately drew far-reaching consequences from the physical attack. As PCGamesN reported, the attacker was banned from all future tournaments organized by the organizer for at least ten years. In a statement, the organization stressed that physical violence has absolutely no place at local events. Under no circumstances will such attacks be tolerated. The safety of the participating players and spectators is always the top priority.
In addition, those responsible reported the incident to the Esports Integrity Commission. The organization is considered an authority for fair behavior in electronic sports. If the commission initiates its own investigation, the player will be threatened with a worldwide ban from all professional competitions in Counter-Strike 2. This would effectively mean the end of his career to date. The first effects are already evident, as the player’s channel on Twitch was blocked due to violations of the guidelines.
After the initial shock, Salomon took the incident with humor. He sarcastically commented on the punch online, noting that his opponent’s aim was better when hitting than virtually. The attacker has not yet publicly commented on his behavior. His team has not yet released a statement regarding further collaboration. The incident sparked a discussion in the community about security precautions at such events. The organizers are responsible for ensuring that everything runs smoothly and safely on stage.
