Galaxy S27: New Pro model also in Europe with Snapdragon CPU
Samsung is planning four top smartphones in the Galaxy S27 series for 2027. With the new Galaxy S27 Pro, which complements the line-up, another high-end model is arriving below the Ultra. Leaks now seem to confirm that Samsung is also using a Qualcomm platform for the “Pro” in Europe.
Databases reveal details about Samsung’s CPU strategy
Samsung is once again relying on a two-pronged strategy for its new high-end smartphones in the Galaxy S27 series, in which different CPUs are installed depending on the model and region. Now there are indications that the new Galaxy S27 Pro in Europe, like its big sister model Galaxy S27 Ultra, will come with a new top SoC from Qualcomm. The Galaxy S27 Pro, whose internal name is “NM3” (“Next/New Miracle”) and which has the model number SM-S957B, has recently been found in some import-export databases using this data. The information available there not only makes it clear which camera sensors Samsung wants to use in the S27 series smartphones.

Furthermore, there is also information about the planned platform, including the model number “SM-S957B”, which can be identified by the addition “B” as a model for the European market and therefore also for Germany. Specifically, metal covers for shielding radiation can be found there, which are intended for the “SM-S957B” with a “Qualcomm AP”. This refers to the application processor, a common name for smartphone CPUs in the industry. However, the documents still leave it open which chip this will be, although it can be assumed that the Qualcomm “Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6” expected in the fall will be used in one of its two variants.
This will be available in the coming months in two different variants, which have the model numbers SM8950 and SM8975 and which differ primarily in terms of different clock speeds and the optional support for LPDDR6 RAM offered by the latter, more powerful model.
S27 Ultra with top version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6?
In connection with the Galaxy S27 Ultra, which can be found in the databases with the code abbreviation “NM4”, there could be a staggering. While the Galaxy S27 Pro could feature the SM8950 and thus the “small” top SoC from Qualcomm, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could have the new top chip SM8975. However, this cannot yet be confirmed. Samsung’s dual-source strategy seems to be continuing demonstrably with the cheaper Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus models. For both models, the import-export databases name chips from “LSI” (meaning Samsung’s chip division) and Qualcomm as platforms. With the Samsung Exynos 2700, which has already been spotted in benchmarks, these devices in this country are likely to have Samsung’s own chip, while Qualcomm’s high-end SoC is installed in other parts of the world. The S27 series smartphones are currently still in development, as Samsung reached the Device Verification Testing (DVT) stage in May, according to evidence available online.
The hardware design, which has been established so far, is checked to ensure that it can be implemented correctly before it goes into the final test phase with PVT (Product Verification Testing) before mass production begins. Nevertheless, there can of course be changes to the manufacturer’s plans relatively shortly before the market launch, as we have already experienced, for example, with the successor to the Galaxy S25 Edge, which was actually planned for 2026. Samsung abandoned this model shortly before the market launch and instead brought the Galaxy S26 Plus to market within a very short time. The Galaxy S27 and its sister models are expected to be presented again in spring 2027.
