A short and quick look at the functions of iPhone 15 Pro’s Action Button

The new iPhone 15 series by Apple is now official. The series consists of four iPhone 15 models featuring the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new iPhone 15 series comes with a lot of improved and unique features. Having said this, the iOS 17 is anticipated to arrive next week.

Notably, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max come with an Action Button. Interestingly, the new Action Button is customizable. It has been added to the high-end model of the series as a replacement for the standard mute switch on previous iPhones. Action Button is set to function as a switch between Ring and Silent modes by default. However, users can assign different functions to it as well like flashlights, voice memos, cameras, and more.

According to some recent pieces of information, users can assign tasks of translation to the Action Button. The button will translate the languages without requiring opening the app. The information presented on the company’s website states that this option will be available later this year. It means that it might arrive later with an iOS 17 update.

Let us quickly overview the different functions that can be performed with the new Action Button. You can assign tasks ranging from switching between Ring/Silent, Camera, flashlight, voice memos, focus, accessibility, shortcuts, to magnifier. The Action Button must be pressed and held in order to complete the assigned action. Pre-orders for the iPhone 15 models will begin on Friday, September 15 at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time, and they will go on sale on Friday, September 22.
