Allama Iqbal Open University to hold conference on media

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Islamabad is all set to organize the national conference on media on Friday. The purpose of this conference to strengthen the relationships with media for their initiative press-academia partnership in order to promote quality education in the country.

The conference will revolve around the theme, “Post-modern Times: Challenges and Prospects”. According to the statement released on Sunday, prominent media professionals are invited to attend the event in Islamabad, the statement added.

The conference is helpful for the students as well as media practitioners in order to develop fruitful networking for the future. Students in mass communication would be able to learn more about the industry, trends, establish social networks and play a critical role in creating new opportunities for them.

Chairman Mass Communication Department at AIOU Dr. Saqib Riaz said, “The conference is being organized with the efforts of Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui to seek media support in serving the society better with educational pursuits.”

A two-day interactive session would also be organized between media to see how the stipulated educational targets can be achieved. The university (AIOU) is media-based educational institute which focuses on affordable education to all the segments of the society. The upcoming conference is the part of academic, literary and social activities which is regularly organized by the university on socio-economic issues faced by the country.

Dr. Shahid Siddiqui puts special emphasis on collaborative partnership and interaction between international and national institutions for meeting educational targets. The conference majorly focuses on the goal to provide a platform where academics, researchers, civil society and other media sciences experts to highlight and find solutions to current educational challenges and future needs.

The conference will shed light on the current trends of communication and media. Various theoretical and empirical methodologies would also be discussed which could help develop appropriate strategies for policymakers in order to find solutions to the problems in the educational field.
