Everything is new in May – including on Amazon Prime Video. Among other things, Nicolas Cage appears in Spider Noir, an exciting spy series with Citadel starts its second season and Jack Ryan also returns in the brand new film Ghost War.
May 2026 is just around the corner and Amazon is once again expanding the range of films and series on Prime Video. After real blockbusters were added to the streaming service’s library in April with the final season of The Boys and lots of James Bond films, May also delivers a large selection of fresh content.
As one of the highlights, the second season of the spy series starts on May 6th Citadel on the platform. Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh return after severely weakening Manticore. Now, together with Bernard Orlick, they go on the offensive to destroy the remaining cells of the organization before they take control of the global spy network again. At the same time, storylines from the spin-offs Citadel: Diana and Citadel: Honey Bunny will be integrated into the main series. New characters like Hutch, played by Jack Reynor, expand the conflict. The film is waiting from May 27th Spider Noir on Prime subscribers. Set in 1930s New York, it follows Ben Reilly, an aged and down-on-his-luck private detective played by Nicolas Cage. He used to be the only superhero in town as “The Spider”, but after personal losses and failed cases, he has moved away from that life. When corruption, organized crime and figures like Silvermane become threats again, Reilly is forced to confront his past. The series combines the classic film noir style with superhero elements and appears in both black and white and a color version.
In addition, blockbusters such as Top Gun: Maverick with Tom Cruise and Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio on Prime Video. Sports fans can also look forward to numerous live broadcasts on Prime Video again in May 2026. Among other things, the semi-final second leg of the UEFA Champions League between Arsenal London and Atlético Madrid will be broadcast on May 5th. And the currently ongoing NBA playoffs are still represented on the streaming platform. Many duels between the teams still represented will be broadcast live throughout May.
