AMD Processor Prices May Soon Fall
AMD has had great success so far with its new Zen 5 gaming processor. However, the CPU is poorly available. But that should change soon. Because significantly more copies are to be delivered. Prices are therefore likely to return to normal.
Gaming CPU will soon be more available
Just a few hours after its market launch at the beginning of November, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D was sold out worldwide. Since then, the situation surrounding the currently most powerful AMD processor with X3D technology has not improved.
The CPU can only be purchased from dealers, if at all, at prices that are significantly higher than the official RRP. Availability should improve soon, if you believe the words of an AMD representative. He had opposite Tom’s Hardware made a corresponding declaration.
We are working hard to get as many as quickly as possible [CPUs] as possible, with more processors shipping every week. We expect availability to improve throughout the quarter as deliveries increase. AMD

As a result, prices should return to normal. Due to exchange rate fluctuations, AMD increased the euro price for the CPU from initially 529 to temporarily 547 euros. However, it was and is the scalpers on eBay and other platforms who are taking advantage of the situation surrounding the poor availability of the 9800X3D. Prices of up to 1000 euros are currently still being charged.
More X3D CPUs
AMD will probably present the Ryzen 9 9900X3D and the 9950X3D, the even more powerful variants of its CPU series with additional 3D V cache, as part of a keynote at CES 2025 in January. It will then be interesting to see whether there will be delivery bottlenecks for these two processors in the first few months or whether AMD will deliver more units to retailers right from the start. At least, according to the company’s statement above, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D should then be more widely available.
