Witcher 4 could look so amazing
Witcher 3 was already impressive at the time with its excellent graphics. What fans could expect from the next part of the series is now shown in a tech demo from Scans Factory, which was created with the Unreal Engine 5.4 and takes you to a Slavic village.
Witcher 4 is making progress
As developer studio CD Projekt Red recently announced through its CEO Michał Nowakowski, the game has reached “the most intensive phase of development” with the production phase. Over 400 people are currently working on the new epic. There have been no early pictures or even videos from the game yet.
Tech demo creates anticipation
A tech demo from asset manufacturer Scans Factory now provides a foretaste of what Witcher 4 could look like. The company specializes in creating photorealistic environments and items offered through the Unreal Store. The team publishes regularly on its YouTube channel Videos showcasing the impressive work. With the “Medieval Village,” a Slavic village has now been built in Unreal Engine 5.4 that could come one-to-one from the Witcher universe. CD Projekt Red has also switched to Unreal Engine 5 for Witcher 4. The video gives a good impression of what is possible graphically for the game. However, there is no direct connection between the project and the game.
Experience it on your own computer
If you would like to walk through the small village yourself to enjoy the photorealistic graphics, you can download the demo in one of two versions. On the one hand there is the UE5.4 variant with native resolution ready for download. On the other hand, there is one Version with DLSS available. However, if you want to experience a smooth image, you need correspondingly powerful hardware. Loud PC gaming hardware With an RTX 4090 you can achieve around 70 FPS at UHD/4K resolution.
Release a long way off
It will be some time before fans can walk through the real world of Witcher 4. Most recently, a page on GOG about the role-playing game appeared, which stated December 31, 2025 as the release date. However, a release next year seems rather unrealistic due to the size of the project and the current state of development. In addition, Michał Nowakowski recently emphasized again that you only want to give a date when you are “very, very sure”.
