AMD Threadripper Pro 5995WX: $6,500 HEDT CPU Breaks World Record in Cinebench R23

The $6,500 AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX HEDT processor has set a new world record in the multi-core test of the well-known benchmark Cinebench R23. The workstation CPU, which is only offered as a Pro version, puts the Threadripper 3990X (test) and the Epyc 7763 in place.

Over 116,000 points in Cinebench R23

The Twitter user @9550pro was the first to report that Taiwanese extreme overclocker “TSAIK” has managed to put an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5995WX with 64 Zen 3 cores overclocked to 5.15GHz in first place in the OC platform results database HWBOT. With over 116,000 points, the previous world record in this discipline was surpassed by 10.4 percent.

The CPU was powered by liquid nitrogen (LN2) to a temperature down to minus 196 °Centigrade while applying a supply voltage of 1.1 volts.
