Samsung is taking big steps towards a release of One UI 5.0 based on Android 13, which is currently being tested in beta. But which Galaxy smartphones will still benefit from the update in 2022? There is definitely a pleasant surprise.
Android 13 is making its way to Galaxy devices
The Android world as it lives and breathes: Version 13 was revealed long before it was released on most models, but the manufacturers are still doing it themselves. Traditionally, Samsung has to do a lot of reworking with its One UI, since it sometimes makes complex adjustments for its various models. The group recently announced the start of One UI 5.0 beta testing, now it wants to SamMobile can report which devices will officially receive the update later this year. In addition to flagship models, there is also a pleasant surprise from the middle class.
- Galaxy S22 series
- Galaxy S21 series
- Galaxy Z Fold 4
- Galaxy Z Flip 4
- Galaxy Z Fold 3
- Galaxy Z Flip 3
- Galaxy A53
As usual, Samsung seems to be following the update scheme from previous years and first bringing the new firmware to all current flagship models and their previous generations. However, SamMobile mentions another model that is a bit out of line here: With the Galaxy A53, Samsung could also provide its successful mid-range model, presented in April 2022, with fresh software this year.
It would definitely be a nice development for a model in this price range to be serviced so early in the update cycle. SamMobile suspects that it will also be the only mid-range model that will receive fresh firmware before 2023. One UI 4.1 based on Android 12 is currently running on the A53, so One UI 5.0 would be the first major update for the model.
