Android 14 Beta 5 is being rolled out by Google

Android 14 Beta 5 will start rolling out today and is expected to be the last planned Beta for Android 14. We can hope for it to be much more stable than before. This is marked as the third release by the platform for Android 14. This version is most likely to offer many amendments, the majority of which will be able to make the OS more stable.

This makes app APIs finalize along with app-facing behaviors. Developers can proceed to integrate these amendments into the apps and publish them on Google Play store, targeting SDK version 34 for Android.

You can still avail yourself of this beta version if you wish to get a stable version. You can do so by joining Beta, as the public rollout is expected to be launched sometime after Labor Day next month.

What’s new for you in Android 14?

Android is much more stable for now, so there won’t be many new features in this version. However, there’ll be minor changes along with security and privacy updates. Google is launching some new lock screen options themed with your system’s color palette. With some wallpaper features, there’ll be AI-generated with this version. Before that Cinematic and emoji wallpapers are already launched with recent feature drop. Additionally, the system sharesheet is being updated with new app activities and more detailed preview results.

The Pixel 5 will receive Android 14 later in the next month. All those gadgets also have beta versions of it. The Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet are all included in that. In the upcoming months, additional OEMs will start to bring out Android 14.
