Apple launches iOS 27.2 beta: It’s all new, here’s how to get it
Two days after the release of iOS 27, Apple surprisingly released the first developer beta of iOS 27.2. At the same time, pre-release versions of iPadOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2 and macOS 27.2 Golden Gate were released.

Registered developers can already install the new software via the system settings. The public beta is still a long time coming. Users have certainly noticed: Apple is currently skipping iOS 27.1 in the testing cycle. The version number is reserved for the iPhone Duo folding smartphone, which is scheduled to come onto the market on October 23rd. Special adjustments such as a vertical dock and multitasking views for the two screens are planned.
New health functions in the test
With iOS 27.2, Apple is now testing a revised Health app, like MacRumors writes. It is intended to evaluate data from the Apple Watch with Apple Intelligence and provide personalized information. The “Insights” and “Longevity” areas are intended to summarize current health data and long-term developments. In addition, movement-based evaluations are being tested. The iPhone camera is intended to analyze, among other things, flexibility, strength, balance and movement sequences. A paired Apple Watch is required for individual functions.
Apple introduced the new Health app for iOS 27, but only announced the launch for “later this year”. Apple is also planning a collaboration with the US laboratory provider Quest. Users in the United States will be able to order a blood test via the Health app for $119 (around 101 euros). The test is intended to record more than 50 biomarkers. The results should then appear in the health record. It is not known whether or when such extras will come to Germany.

Apple also wants to expand Siri AI’s language support to include French, Spanish and Japanese. A function called iPhone Handoff is also planned, which will enable switching between two devices with the same phone number. As always, be careful when using the preview versions.
