Apple rolls out Apple Music Classical for Android users
For the first time, the Cupertino-based firm has introduced Apple Music Classical for Android users. it can be accessed from the Google Play Store. Similar to Apple Music for Android, the Music Classical app is a reflection of the iOS version. one thing to notice here is that the app arrived on Android before it made its way to the iPad or Mac.
Back in 2021, the company acquired Primephonic, the classical music streaming service. The company announced that it will incorporate the service into Apple Music and introduce it as a new app. The new app will be specific to the music genre. In March, the company released the Apple Music Classical. This app offers a unique and unrelated experience for finding and listening to classical music.
With the dedicated version of the Classical Music app, Apple Music users have access to five million classical music tracks. It consists of high-quality releases, exclusive albums as well as curated playlists. It also includes some features like composer bios and deep dives on key works.
In contrast to the Apple Music app, the interface of Apple Music Classical is simple. Users can search their queries by composer, catalog number, conductor, work, and more. In addition to this, users have access to additional information from editorial notes and descriptions.
Using color schemes and visual references from the relevant classical era, Apple commissioned high-resolution digital portraits of renowned composers including Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, and Johann Sebastian Bach for the app. Additional original artwork will be added over time. To provide exclusive content and recordings, Apple collaborates with classical music performers and institutions.
Android users can access the Apple Music Classical app from the Google Play Store. In order to use the app, users are required to have a subscription to Apple One or Apple Music.
