Apple Watch Series 10 Prototype with puzzling sensor

Apple A recently emerged leak shows pictures of a prototype of the Apple Watch Series 10, which is equipped with an unusual, ring -shaped sensor. This discovery raises questions about possible new health functions that Apple could integrate into future smartwatch models.

The most important thing shortly

  • Photos of a prototype of the Apple Watch Series 10 show an additional, ring -shaped sensor.
  • The purpose of this sensor is currently unknown, but could be related to blood sugar or blood pressure measurement.
  • Current models such as the Apple Watch Series 10 do not have this additional sensor.
  • It remains unclear whether and when this technology will be available in future Apple Watch models.

The mysterious ring -shaped sensor

The X-account @Stellafudge Published pictures that show a prototype of the Apple Watch Series 10 with a special sensor arrangement. Compared to the current models, the central LEDs for heart rate and SPO₂ measurements are significantly smaller. What is striking is a partially transparent ring around these LEDs, which apparently houses additional sensors or LEDs. The exact purpose of this ring is not yet known. Pictures: @stellaFudge on x, however, there is definitely speculation.

It is assumed that this ring-shaped sensor for advanced health measurements such as blood sugar or blood pressure monitoring was developed. Apple has been working on the integration of such functions into its wearables for years. However, these technologies are not yet overturned, which is why they may only be introduced in later models such as the Apple Watch Series 11 or later.

Comparison with current models

The currently available Apple Watch Series 10 does not have this additional ring -shaped sensor. Instead, she relies on the proven sensor arrangement of the previous models for heart rate and SPO₂ measurements. Competitors such as Samsung already offer smartwatches with extended health functions, including sensors for measuring body fat content and muscle mass. For example, models such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra or Huawei Watch D2 an integrated blood pressure measurement. Apple is currently working on this in his work for upcoming Apple Watches.

Conclusion

The leaked prototype of the Apple Watch with a ring -shaped sensor indicates that Apple continues to work intensively on integrating new health functions. It remains to be seen whether and when these technologies will be available in market -like products. € 429.00 € 479.00 in stock.
