Apple Will Reportedly Launch a Red iPhone 8 Today

As per reports, Apple is planning to introduce a new colour variant to its iPhone 8 and 8 Plus line-up today. The colour being reported is—Red.  iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus smartphones were released last year in September. The new colour is part of the firm’s partnership with (RED)—a support group that is dedicated to fighting against HIV/AIDS in the continent of Africa.

MacRumors reported that it has seen a memo from Virgin Mobile which indicates that Apple would be launching the new colour phone option on Monday, 9th of April. The memo clearly mentions that the phone would be available for pre-orders, however, this was not mentioned that whether a pre-order for an iPhone X edition is included or not.

Product RED was established in the year 2006 by the U2 frontman Bono and One Campaign activist—Bobby Shriver. The name was licensed to other private firms for highlighting the efforts for combating against HIV/AIDS in eight different African countries namely—Kenya, Zambia, Ghana, Tanzania, Lesotho, Swaziland, Rwanda and South Africa.

Apple has previously launched a few special (RED) edition iPods, cases and iPads over the span of some years and last year it introduced iPhone 7 in red colour for the very first time in an attempt to make some contribution to the Global Fund for combating AIDS.

The internal memo of Virgin Mobile states that the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition models would be available in the inventory starting from today, but it did not mention that from when the customers would be able to buy it from stores.

Apple most probably might also introduce the rumoured Gold colour in iPhone X model today, however, this was not mentioned in the memo of Virgin Mobile.
