Bose Sport Open Earbuds: Leak shows new clip-on sports headphones in advance
The audio specialist Bose will soon be bringing back the Sport Open Earbuds in a new edition with a completely new design. The new generation relies on an open design in which the headphones are clipped onto the ear and are designed to be more durable.
Cheaper open clip-ons for athletes
The new Bose Sport Open Earbuds expand the ever-growing field of “clip” headphones with an open design to include a model for athletes that is IP54 certified to be protected against dust, splash water and sweat and offers simpler features than the expensive Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (Gen2). Accordingly, the new Sport Open Earbuds are likely to launch on the market at a slightly lower price. So far, the Sport Open Earbuds have not been officially announced in the new edition.
A few years ago, Bose temporarily had another pair of wireless in-ear headphones in its range that, under the same name, were also aimed at users who wanted to go jogging with them, for example. The new edition fundamentally changes the look and features.
Simpler features, focus on good grip
The new headphones offer, among other things, up to seven hours of maximum running time, although this drops to four hours when the function for automatically adjusting the volume to the environment is activated. A simple stereo mode is also included, while you have to forego other special functions such as the cinema or immersion mode of the more expensive editions of Bose’s clip-on headphones.
In addition, the Bose Sport Open Earbuds will come with support for SpeechClarity technology to achieve the clearest possible voice reproduction during phone calls. The features also include support for multipoint connectivity and Google Fast Pair and Find Hub. The energy is supplied via wireless charging. We don’t yet have any information about the price of the new generation Bose Sport Open Earbuds with their “soft, flexible” design for a “comfortable and secure fit” on the ear. In addition to a black version with blue accents, an edition with a case in different shades of green is also planned.
