Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be released in October and, in addition to an exciting campaign on the Korean peninsula, promises an improved and expanded multiplayer experience with additional game variants. A few days before the start of the open beta, Activision and Infinity Ward are showing a new trailer.

Insights into multiplayer

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s multiplayer launches with twelve new 6v6 maps with different locations around the globe. So there are two teams with six members each competing against each other.

In addition to the return of numerous CoD-typical game modes, including Team Deathmatch, Domination and Free for All, there are also several new additions such as Counter Attack, Hijack or a 10v10 firefight mode.

New, modular training facility

Another promising innovation is the so-called “Kill Block”: This mode expands multiplayer to include a dynamic multiplayer experience with adaptive maps and modular battlefields. Before each match, the individual segments of a training facility are recombined. Players must therefore re-evaluate the spaces, routes and lines of sight each time and adapt their tactics. In total there will be more than 500 different configurations at launch. Initially, 3v3 and the new Firefight modes will be supported, but additional modes will be made available in Kill Block after release.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be released on October 23, 2026. Anyone who pre-orders the game will receive early access to the beta and can play it from August 21 to 25, 2026. Shortly thereafter, an open beta test will take place for all interested players from August 28th to September 1st.
