Biometric authentication added to chrome for keeping Password Manager secure

To prevent hacking, each of your online accounts requires a unique and secure passcode. In such chaotic daily routines, it’s impossible to remember all those passwords. A password manager is essential for remembering all of your credentials. There are hundreds of applications from which you can choose to keep your credentials safe. Although many people prefer Chrome’s built-in password manager, Google is aiming to make this built-in system more secure by adding biometric verification to desktop and laptop versions of Chrome.

Google’s password Manager

Google’s password manager is quite handy, as it can keep all of your passwords secure on your mobile phones as well as on your desktops. We rely on these credentials to access so many of our websites and accounts, the passwords to which are saved on web browsers. However, this convenience may cost you a significant amount of money if no secure steps are taken to protect these credentials.

If your computers contain built-in biometric systems or face identification, you can use these systems to access your saved password credentials in Chrome. This is considerably similar to the system on phones and tablets, where you can access your saved passwords from settings>passwords and accounts>Google.

Getting through this authentication process will let you edit and access your saved credentials. Although this feature should’ve been introduced long ago, Chrome is still protecting your accounts in many other ways, such as by suggesting strong passwords for new accounts. It notifies you if you have logged in from a new device or if your security has been compromised in any way.

The feature will be available on our devices soon. Although we can’t predict yet if it will support Windows Hello, which will require face recognition, it should be essentially compatible with the latest Mac devices and other devices that contain finger prints. This feature can be enabled on your device via settings.
