Disney and Amazon are looking into a possible ESPN streaming agreement

Some recent pieces of information suggest that Amazon and Disney might collaborate in the near future. Such a partnership would work for the development of a streaming version of EPSN. Reportedly, the two companies are currently in the initial phases of discussion.  Given this collaboration, Amazon is trying to acquire a smaller stake in the sports network.

As per recent reports, ESPN and Disney are working on the pricing plans for the new service. Pricing is one of the key factors that must be considered in an agreement. The report suggests that a subscription fee ranging from $20 to $35 per month is under consideration by ESPN. Well, such pricing might make it the most expensive streaming service in the US. The request for a response from the news media has not yet received comments from Amazon.com, Walt Disney, or ESPN.

Remarks of Disney’s CEO on the collaboration

Robert Iger, Disney’s CEO, shared his willingness to hold ESPN’s hand. He shared his intention of partnering and giving rise to a joint venture. This method represents a substantial change in distribution strategy by enabling ESPN to interact directly with consumers. In conclusion, Amazon and Disney are in the middle of discussions regarding a partnership.

None of the companies have responded to this situation yet. It’s important to remember that Disney’s CEO has previously emphasized the company’s dedication to enhancing ESPN’s relevance and pursuing collaborations for better customer accessibility. This strategy emphasizes the changing media distribution environment and the increasing significance of direct-to-consumer services within the sector.
