[ad_1]

Tesla’s Gigafactory near Berlin is almost ready for opening. Elon Musk has announced his next visit in the middle of February so it is now speculated that on that date the inauguration of the production will be celebrated with Musk’s, final approval.

It is important to mention here that Tesla has already started pre-production at the new Tesla Gigafactory in Berlin for weeks. It was actually started in the beginning of the year, but the good news for Tesla is that Tesla had received another permit for the production of 2,000 Model Y bodies at the Gigafactory Berlin, this permit also allows the company to carry out the first test runs in normal operation. Last year, the responsible authority had already given Tesla an exemption to build 250 Model Y bodies for testing purposes.

Permanent approval pending yet

Maybe, Musk visit to the factory will pave the way to pemanent final approval but, the first Model Y vehicles built in Grünheide had already been photographed leaving the plant at the end of the year. However, the final approval for the production site is not approved yet as a final decision. Brandenburg government also confirmed that it had received all the relevant paperwork for a decision in December last week. So the final permanent approval for Tesla’s production is expected soon now.
Tesla founder Elon Musk, meanwhile, is once again fueling these rumors himself on Twitter. He announced that he will travel to Gigafactory next month, in mid-February precisely.

The date is a clear indication of the possible start of production, for the series production of the Model Y. Tesla could thus celebrate an important milestone for production in Europe. A few days earlier, media had reported that Musk is already expected in mid-January for a flying visit to Berlin. The Tesla CEO now corrected this information himself and instead stated that he will visit the plant in mid-February.
The rumor mill also says that Tesla will deliver the first Model Y from Grünheide before the end of the first quarter of 2022.
