The social media giant Facebook has removed a post published from the account of the President of the United States Donald Trump on Wednesday after President Trump shared a clip from a US-based media house Fox News interview in which he falsely claimed that the children are ‘almost immune’ to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The spokesperson of the social media platform said that the video posted by the US President’s Facebook account includes false claims that a group of people is immune from the infection of the COVID-19 which is a violation of our policies around harmful COVID misinformation.

It is the first time when Facebook has removed one of the US President’s posts under the violation of the policies.
Previously, the social media giant had also taken down Trump Campaign ads for breaking its rules around “organized hate” and misleading information about the census of the United States (US).
It is pertinent to mention here that the video was also posted on another social media platform Twitter, where it remains up.
On Facebook, the video posted by the US President was visible for at least four hours and was viewed hundreds of thousands of times before the authorities removed it.
