Meizu has not released a smartphone to the market since September 2021. Until 2021, the firm released a few smartphones every year. The company, however, didn’t introduce any cell phones in the previous calendar year. During this time frame, the company was acquired by Geely.
The Meizu 20, Meizu 20 Pro, and Meizu 20 Infinity, Meizu’s twentieth-anniversary releases, are the company’s return to the smartphone market. The manufacturer, which is owned by Geely, displayed its most recent mobile operating system, Flyme 10, along with the Flyme Auto and the Lynk & Co 08 electric SUV.
Yesterday, during the launch event Meizu unveiled the Meizu 20 series phones. In addition to this, the company introduced its latest Flyme 10 interface. Reportedly, the new firmware has been referred to as Alive Design given the fact that it features a visual overhaul. It is presented with a modern look that includes new widgets, icons, menu designs, and wallpapers.
Furthermore, the core apps are provided with a refurbished look. The signature Meizu small window mode for apps is now accompanied by two new gestures i.e., two-finger and long press gestures. Besides this, Flyme 10 features the Meizu OneMind 10 AI engine. The notable features of the Meizu OneMind 10 AI engine include better stability, better frame rates, and usage of less system space relative to previous versions. Additionally, the Aicy digital assistant is provided with smart scanning and picture and video text recognition in real time.
Some old devices will also receive the Flyme 10 treatment
Moreover, Meizu has announced that the Flyme 10 beta will be introduced to Meizu 18 duo and Meizu 18s series by early April. These devices are expected to receive a stable release by May. Besides these, the Meizu 17 series and Meizu 18X will receive a beta release in late April and a stable version by June.
