Google Fold Foldable Smartphone Could Launch 2021

Google Fold

Many new foldable are expected to come onto the market in the coming year. The search engine company Google could soon publish its first foldable smartphone. So far, however, it is still unclear what the device looks like and which components the model is equipped with.

The information comes from display analyst Ross Young, whose sources have proven reliable in the past. In a tweet, he claims that Google wants to sell its first own foldable in 2021. The search engine company has been working on a foldable smartphone, code-named “Passport”, for several years. The name under which the model will be published is still open.

In addition, it is not yet known which design the device brings with it and with which existing foldable the new smartphone can best be compared.

Oppo, Vivo & Xiaomi are also working on new foldables

Of course, Google is not the only company that would like to make an additional foldable available in 2021. According to Ross Young, Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi are also working on foldable models. The devices are to be presented in the first quarter of the new year. Samsung is even supposed to develop three different smartphones. This includes the Galaxy Z Flip Lite.

In addition to the foldable, Google apparently also wants to offer two normal smartphones in the new year. These are two devices that are being developed under the code names “Raven” and “Oriole”. The two models are to be launched as members of the Pixel 6 series and appear in the fourth quarter of next year.
