Google stated that users of YouTube Music would begin to receive support for podcasts. The service will initiate from the United States. The new feature was hinted at back in February. The best part about this feature is that it does not require a premium YouTube Music membership.
Podcasts are currently being moved by Google to the YouTube Music app. Users can access them on-demand, offline, or in the background while casting, and transitioning between audio and video. It is similar to any other AV material. However, do note that these are all free as mentioned by Google.
Besides this, Google has not mentioned anything about the future of the Podcasts app. The app received the last major update back in August 2022. Moreover, the app is not shown in Google searches. As of now, the podcasts available on YouTube Music are less than there were on the previous platform. We anticipate this to alter as the transition moves forward.
Podcasts are currently being moved by Google to the YouTube Music app. Additionally, there is a probability that this is some kind of A/B testing and that it will continue to be market-dependent. The Podcasts app, meanwhile, is likely to be the next piece of software Google kills off. Since the company is notorious for gradually phasing down many features and services.
