Horizon Forbidden West surfaced as a leak weeks before its release

The PlayStation game Horizon Forbidden West is actually only in a month or so and there are certainly many who can hardly wait to try out the Guerrilla Games title. That is obviously already possible, but “unofficially” and in an unfinished version. Horizon Zero Dawn was one of the greatest successes of the PlayStation 4, the game by Dutch developer Guerrilla Games was even a surprise hit. On February 18, 2022, the sequel will be released with the subtitle Forbidden West, the game will be available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

But apparently an early version of Horizon Forbidden West somehow got online these days. As VGC reported, some screenshots initially appeared on social media. In the meantime, the gaming side can confirm that the leaked build contains the complete game and only a few assets are missing – the core content of the final game is complete.

The screenshots were removed only a few hours after a copyright complaint on Twitter, which can also be seen as confirmation of their authenticity. on Reddit the recordings can still be found. They are either from Russia or at least were recorded with the Russian version of the game.

Source unknown

One can only speculate about the source and how of the leak at the moment, but it should be the PlayStation 4 version of Horizon Forbidden West. So far, no copy has appeared in relevant networks and Sony will also hope that it will stay that way. It’s harder to get illegal copies to work on a PlayStation console anyway. Because even though there are jailbreaks, it is much more complicated to execute illegally obtained software compared to a PC.
