iMac With M3 Chip May Come Earlier Than Expected

Apple is said to have already begun to send the new iMac, with an M3 chip, into test production. According to the latest rumors, the all-in-one PCs with the internal designations J433 and J434 are about to be launched.

This is reported by the magazine Bloomberg, referring to new rumors from suppliers. Bloomberg author Mark Gurman had already picked up these rumors in mid-February and is now expanding his prediction. So there is some new information.

So Apple is said to have almost completed the development stage of the new iMac. Gutmann writes in his “Power On” newsletter: “The good news is that the next-generation iMacs, codenamed J433 and J434, are in an ‘advanced stage’ of technical validation testing (EVT) and Apple is currently conducting production testing of the desktop .”

The name of the processor is still unknown

However, there are not yet many details about the changes in the next iMac generation. What is certain is that the next Apple processor, which has not yet been presented, will be used in the iMac and that it will outperform the current processors – to what extent has not yet been leaked. Whether the new chips will be called “M3” is not yet entirely clear, but it is very likely.

Gurman, therefore, reiterates the expectation that the new iMac will be “one of the company’s first M3-based machines”. However, it is currently still expected that the M3 will not be presented until this year’s WWDC, so that would not be the case until June. The new iMac should definitely be launched this year, but probably after the WWDC in the third quarter of 2023. The new iMacs are already quite advanced in development, but according to rumors Apple wants them “in three months into mass production”.
