Apple is currently facing an issue with activating the brand new iPhone 14 models. As of today, millions of iPhone users globally will start receiving their new iPhones but the activation process is not that easy at the moment.
Apple has confirmed an issue to activate the iPhones on the release day, the report comes from MacRumors says, that Apple has started sending out an official memo to its support team which particularly highlights the problem, “There is a known issue for iOS 16 that may impact device activations on open Wi-Fi networks.”
Users might face a problem while activating their iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 pro due to this issue, hence, users are likely to get an error message during the activation process. If the users get this problem, they are advised to connect the iPhone 14 with their Mac or PC via iTunes.
On September 16, millions of customers worldwide will begin receiving their orders for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. But apparently, things might not go as smoothly during the activation process. Apple has confirmed that those activating new iPhones on release day might encounter an issue where the activation process does not initialize during the setup process. If the users are connected to WiFi and trying to activate the phone they might get to the previous screen and repeat the process over and over again in order to complete the process. But this creates enough hassle just for activation.
However, users who have connected their iPhones via iTunes would be able to activate the phone hassle-free. The support staff is also informed about this issue and has been told not to create any repair tickets for the iPhones if they get this issue.
There is no quick remedy released by Apple as yet, users might have to wait a week or a couple of weeks for Apple to fully resolve the issue by activating the new iPhone 14 and 14 pro.
Apple has also pushed a new iOS 16.0.1 update which is likely to resolve this issue, but it is not confirmed yet whether it will fix the issue or not. We still have to wait and see how things will go along and keep you updated.
