Leak reveals plans for Pixel Tablet 2025
Google is apparently planning the second generation of its Pixel tablet for 2025. The new model will have an improved processor and, for the first time, a keyboard case. There could also be an upgrade in the design. The group is thus aiming for more productivity.
Restart with improved productivity
The search engine giant appears to be planning a new edition of its Pixel tablet for next year. After the debut of the first model in 2023, the second generation is expected to bring some improvements that could make the Android device more productive.
According to available information, the Pixel Tablet 2 will look similar to its predecessor. However, Google may have fine-tuned some details. The edges around the display should be a little narrower. Repositioning the camera and controls was also apparently tested in prototypes. It is still unclear whether these changes will make it into the final version.

More powerful processor and new keyboard case
As Android Authority reported, users can expect a more powerful processor under the hood. A “newer” tensor chip is to be installed. It is still unclear whether this will be the current Tensor G4 or the Tensor G5 expected for 2025. In any case, the new tablet should benefit from Google’s promise of seven years of update support.
One of the most exciting innovations concerns accessories: Google is reportedly developing a keyboard case for the Pixel Tablet 2. This will connect to the device via contacts on the back and serve as a stand. Interestingly, such a case was originally planned for the first Pixel tablet, but was not implemented due to quality problems.
Camera and pen support still unclear
So far there is only vague information about the camera equipment. A “newer camera” will be used, but details are not yet known. The current model has 8 megapixel sensors on the front and back. The question of an input pen also remains open.
One was also planned for the first generation, but never came onto the market. It will be seen next year whether Google will make a new attempt at pen support for the Pixel Tablet 2.
Focus on productivity and outlook
With the planned improvements, Google seems to want to position the Pixel Tablet more as a productivity device. The combination of more powerful hardware, keyboard case and long-term software support could make the device attractive to a broader target group. While details about the Pixel Tablet 2 are still sparse, there are signs that it will launch in spring 2025.
This would mean that Google would establish a two-year cycle for its tablet range. According to rumors, a third generation is already being planned for 2027.
